If you are in 1st through 12th grade, to paraphrase Marshall Brain from HowStuffWorks, “You are there to get you out of the way of the adults primarily, but since you are there anyway you might as well learn stuff”. Try not to waste all your time on things social, all that will be worthless the minute you graduate 12th grade.
The learning you do in class won’t necessarily be worthless as soon as you graduate. Maybe it will or maybe it won’t, but things social will definitely be worthless so you are better off betting on learning. Try to be on track to do something when you graduate from high school, try to already have some experience in an area you hope to work in. Try to avoid graduating with no real plan or with a kinda sorta plan you haven’t started implementing yet.
